Our trip to Los Angeles was not all theme parks and Hollywood, though. For starters, there were quite a few attractions in Buena Park, right near our hotel!
On our first night in LA, we went to Medieval Times in Buena Park for a 4-course dinner medieval-style (sans cutlery) and a jousting tournament.
Aside from watching gallant knights astride pure-bred horses competing in tournament games, we were also treated to displays of swordplay, falconry and even sorcery, as part of an elaborate pageant.
Ripley's Believe It Or Not! Museum held a weird and wonderful collection of artifacts and snippets of information from all over the world. His newspaper columns used to illustrate many of these.
Just across the road from Ripley's was the Movieworld Wax Museum. We had our photo taken with George Burns (yes, he's still around!). Each movie star figure was shown in a scene from one of their famous films.
There were so many movie stars that I could not photograph them all. You will hopefully be able to see a sample of them, though, on my Movie Stars page, once I get around to setting it up.
