Orlando (September 6-12, 2006)
The Magic Kingdom opened in 1971, and was Disney's second park. It was called simply "Walt Disney World" until Epcot opened in 1982. It followes the same layout as the Disneyland Park in California, but is set on a larger area (107 acres, as opposed to Disneyland's 85 acres).
Walk up Main Street USA to the centrepiece of Cinderella's Castle, then choose which land to visit from there - Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, Mickey's Toontown Fair or Tomorrowland.
Steve had caught a cold, so wasn’t up to too much in the morning. He recovered enough in the afternoon for us to go on rides such as Splash Mountain and Space Mountain, something I had plucked up my courage to do because I know he enjoys fast-paced rides and drops.
Stay tuned for some more photos when I can find the time.....
Cinderella Castle is quite different from Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland.
